Dynamic Navigation Menu

This file creates a menu structure that gives the user a clue to their location in the site structure. One of the best known usability heuristics says you should give the user feedback as to system state. Their location, in my opinion, qualifies as system state. This file can help provide that location state by doing two things: * NOT creating a link to the current page and * Changing the CSS to create a visual cue of current location within the site.

Panel Class

This is a PHP class that allows you to easily create self-recovering panels. Panel is a component of overlapping "group of panels", similar to the sidebar of Mozilla or Microsoft Outlook. The main part of the overlapping and navigation is done in DHTML, and includes a PHP class to facilitate the creation of the panel side server. Panel content can be either an external page or given as a string. Basic customization (colors, fonts, etc.) is possible via method calls. Further customization can be achieved via a CSS. Documentation is only in French at the moment.

PHP Layers Menu

PHP Layers Menu is a hierarchical dynamic menu system to rapidly choose among the items. It works with both PHP3 and PHP4. It achieves a compact view and a reasonably small file size for the page with a very large number of entries. Its behaviour is completely analogous to the Gnome, KDE and MS Windows main menus. You can use as many levels as you need, and the menu is dynamically generated from the menu structure file. It supports Mozilla, Netscape 4.x and 6.x, Konqueror, Opera 5, and Internet Explorer 4, 5, 5.5.
